Show Schedule for February to April 2007

After almost two weeks of much needed rest, we will resume to showing out cats again. Our goal is to at least show our felines once or twice a month (more if possible). But lately, the Northwest Region (Region 2) has not been having shows near our area. This means that we will be traveling down south more often than we usually we do. This will give us the chance, to see more of our friend in the Los Angeles area. Yepee! Wish us Luck, thank you!

February 10-11 Call of the Wild Cat Club / Santa Rosa, CA (Region 2)
February 24-25 Malibu Cat Club / Costa Mesa, CA (Region 5)
March 10-11 Franciscan Cat Fanciers / Hayward, CA (Region 2)
March 17-18 Rex, Rattle & Roll Cat Club / Ridgecrest, CA (Region 5)
March 31 High Sierra Cat Club / Lodi, CA (Region 2)
April 7-8 Crow Canyon Cat Club / Pleasanton, CA (Region 2)
April 13-15 Tonks West Cat Club / Costa Mesa, CA (Region 5)

Picky Poka

It’s been almost three weeks since we welcomed Poke-A-Dot and Cuddle Bug to our home. I thought that by now, both cats would have adjusted to there new environment. Cuddles have blended in well with the others, she is now part of the “cat pack.” But it seems like Poka is taking her time. And not just time, but she’s also being picky-eater. For the past couple weeks, she hasn’t nibbled a single piece of the dry food in her dish. Instead, she preferred gobbling the Turkey & Giblets wet food mixed with Gerber Chicken Baby Food and Fancy Feast Liver Pâté’ --- talk about “kitty pamper.” She refuse to settle for anything less and it’s been a struggle making her eat. So lately I’ve been giving her what she wants and slowly putting in some kibbles of dry food. Hopefully this works and she’ll soon eat her regular food with gusto!

A Puny Victory in Woodland

Yesterday, was a fusion of both chaos and joy. The cat show produced by the Poppy State Cat Club was a one day-six ring show. Woodland is good two (2) hour drive, got up at 4:30 AM to get ready and be at the show by 8:30 in the morning. Halfway driving, Cuddle Bug ( Red McTabby Devon Rex ) accidentally had a "call of nature." I was not worried at first since I have a litter box in the car. Guess what? She accidentally stepped on her "poop." I had to stop in the middle of nowhere to clean her up and to get rid of the smell. Just when I thought that the worse was over, Sapphire ( Platinum Point Tonkinese) went into the litterbox and stepped on the "poop." Yayayayay ! Thank heavens, I have enough alcohol wipes to clean up the mess. This incident cost me 30-40 minutes of my traveling time. Grrrrrr !

Luckily, there was no traffic on the way to Woodland and I was able to drive 90 miles per hour. I got to the show hall 5 minutes before the end of "check in." Talk about --- in the nick of time. The show started in time, yet it started slow. Judges were quite meticulous about the kitten class, taking a good look and critic of the line up.

Cuddle Bug got four (4) BEST of BREED, an 8th BEST SHORTHAIR KITEN in Judge Ed Davis ring and just when we were about to leave; Cuddles got another 8th BEST ALL-BREED KITTEN under Judge Maj-Britt Stein. Sapphire also got into a final, though some Tonkinese exhibitors were calling her "Big Bertha." She got 5th BEST SHORTHAIR CAT in Judge Ed Davis, as on OPEN (amazing aloha!). It's very seldom that judges would use an OPEN in a final and I was flabbergasted. She also got her six (6) winner ribbons to get her CFA CHAMPION title.

At the end of the day --- I was dead beat, happy and proud of our BABIES !

After a series of disappointments with our previous blog site, we decided it was about time for us to move on and put an end to all the hassles. I don't know how many times I stared on the screen, waiting for the page to change. What's worst, the site is always down. Unable to log in and make any necessary changes. Grrrrrr !!!! Hopefully, our new home on the Blog won't disappoint us.
